Once again it was time for SAs’ fashion community to heed the call from SA Menswear Week to look sharp, gather and celebrate young and talented designers from SA. This year was no exception.
2BOP Apparel graced the runway on Saturday alongside Sol-Sol Menswear and GoodGooodGood. Cape Towns youth was there in their numbers to support and show love to the streetwear veterans.
With Ulfah Davids at the design helm, a refreshing energy is tangible while the essence and identity of the heritage streetwear brand is maintained in the pixelated prints, an ongoing motif that evokes visceral memories of time spent in front of screens of varying pixelation. When paired with flamboyant hues and silk fabrication, 2BOP becomes a leader in modern streetwear that bends not to the influence of trend.
Hats off to the designer for pushing the envelope with a checkered look consisting of a Harrington jacket and matching shorts. The standout looks would have to be the radiant reds we saw sported by Seeraj and Kris!
A show truly worthy of standing ovation. 12+ years in the game it is amazing to see a brand maintain its identity and integrity yet still remain relevant to young people and amongst the tenured in the industry. Here are a few other looks and snaps that stole the show and took audiences breath away.
